Major: Neuroscience 

Minor: Economics, Chemistry, and Health Services Management 

Sarah is a first-generation, Brazilian-Egyptian from Northern New Jersey. She went to Morris Hills High School’s Magnet School of Math and Science, and matched with Penn through the Questbridge program and also received multiple scholarships through her school. In her free time she enjoys playing volleyball, track and field, cooking & eating, volunteering, and playing in the orchestra.

In high school, Sarah was Varsity Volleyball captain- setter & opposite hitter, Varsity Track and Field Captain- Javelin and Pole Vault, Region 1 Orchestra and Lakeland Youth Symphony Orchestra Principal bassist, youth orchestra mentor, Student Government Vice President, and Girl Scouts- Gold Silver and Bronze award recipient.

Sarah speaks Portuguese and Spanish and is learning Arabic. She is currently working at multiple COVID-19 testing sites throughout New York City with the New York State Department of Health and New York City Health + Hospitals, and is always sure to make public service an emphasis in her life!

 

Sarah has helped students in her area through tutoring, resume writing and strategic mentoring tailored to the student’s interests and goals. Ask her about her service projects, the weird foods she’s tried, or which song she has on repeat this week!
